Paneer Tikka

INGREDIENTS


For the marinade:

1 tsp kashmiri mirchi

2 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp fennel powder

1 tsp crushed ginger

1 tsp garlic

1/2 tsp ground cardamom

1 Tbsp kasoori methi

2 Tbsp gram flour

2 Tbsp plain yogurt

3 Tbsp fresh lime juice

2 Tbsp cilantro

1.5 tsp salt


2 Tbsp mustard oil

6 oz. paneer, cut into cubes

1/2 an onion, chopped into 1 inch squares

1/2 bell pepper, chopped into 1 inch squares


DIRECTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients for marinade in a large bowl

  2. Heat mustard oil in small pan for 2 minutes

  3. Add hot oil to marinade, carefully

  4. Add paneer, onion and bell pepper to marinade

  5. Let it marinate for 1 hour

  6. Once paneer and veggies have marinated, add to skewers. Layer paneer with onion and peppers

  7. Roast on lightly oiled grill pan. Skewers can also be cooked on the stove or in the oven

  8. Roast skewers on each side. 1 minute per side

  9. Squeeze lime juice on cooked skewers and add a dusting of chaat masala before serving
